DeeWP Audio transcription services (run by Dee Briston)  ~ a one-person business providing first class audio transcription services. The costs are kept low but the quality is always high ~  I transcribe from digital media (digital wave files,dss,mp3,dvf,msv,wma etc), minidisc, video, pod casts, tapes and CDs/DVDs. 

I am not an audio typist (see below, click this link) but as a professional transcriber I offer an audio transcription service for complex and challenging work - I do not transcribe from simple one person dictation of reports, letters or memorandums.

There are a lot of audio transcription services on the Internet, and after providing online audio typing services since 2001, as a professional audio transcriber, I have found my services are increasingly in demand. Having had several clients come to me after being disappointed with other service providers. Whether it is standard tape transcription you want, digital audio transcription (audio file transcription such as .mp3, .wma, .wmv, .wav, .dvf, .msv, .dss or similar) or podcast transcription, if it is recorded I can transcribe it. This includes providing a video transcription service.

I work with a lot of students and Universities, whose budgets are tight and so I offer them the lowest prices on my rate card to transcribe their work, and if I am unable to help them because my diary is fully booked, I use the services of my sister company to assist them, further discounting the prices not normally available* through Audiosec Limited to ensure they still get first class service, but don't have to pay prices beyond their means. I am known for my honesty, accuracy, professionalism - and being really friendly to work with.

I am happy to work with standard tapes but I encourage clients to move over to digital.  I also work with clients who publish their audio and podcast transcripts are becoming more popular. I have worked regularly providing podcast transcription for radio companies and lecture halls.  I also work for legal services - family law and criminal law cases - transcribing under caution interviews, video interviews and inquests. My legal services work is accurate and always totally verbatim;. I take audio tape/tapes and turn them into a digital wave files, which are made available to clients at no additional charge.

Definition of an audio typist: an audio typist is someone who works mainly with one person dictation, i.e. they transcribe dictation of correspondence or reports. A professional transcriber is not an audio typist - a transcriber is highly skilled and able to work with interviews either with one person or multiple voices.
