One of my favourite areas of transcription is counter fraud investigation transcription. Nothing peaks my interest as much as the ongoing investigations and the build up to the case. It's like following a mystery series on the television where you can't wait for the next instalment - that's one of the reasons I enjoy this sort of assignment far above anything else I am called to do. In an ideal world, I would be working on counter fraud investigation transcription work on a daily basis.

All tapes received here are converted to digital sound files. This enables me to be entirely accurate about the time codes that go into the transcript. The transcripts are totally verbatim, accurate in the extreme (including every cough, mumble etc as these are used in court cases and must be a carbon copy of the whole event) and thoroughly proof read against the audio before being sent back to the client. All copies of recordings are destroyed after three weeks but copies can be sent to the fraud investigation officer to retain on his computer, using a secure file transfer system. Standard tape can either be returned to the client or destroyed.
